Tell Brigitte what you eat (and what you don't)

Diet, allergies, kitchen appliances: how to set your preferences so recipes really suit you.

A perfect recipe that contains your allergen is useless. Take two minutes to tell Brigitte who you are: everything she suggests builds on it.

Where to set it up

When you first open it, Mealventory asks a few questions: your diet, your allergies, your kitchen appliances, what you always have at home. You can change everything later in Settings › Preferences.

What you can set

  • Your diet: omnivore, flexitarian, vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian.
  • Restrictions: gluten-free, lactose-free, halal, kosher, low-carb, no added sugar.
  • Your allergies: the common allergens in one tap, and the option to add others.
  • Your appliances: oven, microwave, air fryer, pressure cooker, slow cooker, food processor… Brigitte won’t suggest a recipe that needs an appliance you don’t have.
  • What you always have at home: salt, oil, flour… so they don’t show up on your shopping list every week.

How allergies are handled

Every generated recipe is checked server-side against the allergies declared in your profile and those your household shares. A recipe that contains one is rejected before it is shown to you.

It's a safeguard, not a guarantee. Mealventory is a cooking assistant, not a doctor: always read the ingredient list and the label of the products you buy.

For a household

If you share your household, you choose, allergy by allergy, which ones to share with the other members. They then apply to the whole household’s recipes.
